The Guy My Family Won’t Stop Talking About

I tend to not let the guy I’m ‘talking to’ to ‘dating’ meet my family because who knows how long he’s going to be around and I don’t want to get their hopes up high. Lol. The only guys I’ve let meet my family, including my grandparents, are Phineas, LeRon, Dustin, and Afonso. My mom’s favorite will always be Phineas and I’m aware of that. When LeRon left the picture people we happy because they felt I punked him and he just wasn’t worth my time. Honestly, I would have to say that that was my healthiest relationship because we never really had problems or altercations. At the end of the day I just outgrew him and that’s why it ended. Even though Dustin did so much for me and my siblings, and my dad even called him son; when he left the picture no one said two words about him. It was like he never existed. Then there was this guy named Afonso. We were exclusively talking so every time my mom, dad, or older sister called, I was somehow always with him. My grandparents and nephew came down to Houston to spend Thanksgiving and everyone stayed at my uncle’s house. Afonso wanted to take me out and as I was leaving out the door, my grandmother wanted to meet him. I wasn’t so sure about that but I told him to come in anyway. When you meet my granddad, you’ve reached the big time so that’s why I’m picky about whom I especially let him meet. My family instantly felt he topped the list; instantly number one out of every guy I’ve dated. For my grandmother it was because he drove a Mercedes. She’s always been the one who feels women should be with someone who’s financially stable. Also, did I mention she likes the finer things in life? My grandfather liked him because he a senior majoring in economics minoring in finance. My granddad is big on education and he loves hearing the word senior because that means you’re about to graduate. My aunt gave me the thumbs up but I can’t really figure out what for. My mom never even met him but she liked him because we would always be out and about somewhere; taking me places I’ve never been. She’s always wanted man to do that for her. My nephew liked him because of his car’s seat warmers and TV screens. Also, because he treated him with respect, showing him attention and playing with him. Afonso is a great guy and is the better than any other guy I’ve talked to, I just couldn’t let the fact past by that he couldn’t made me laugh. I’m goofy so therefore having good humor is of importance. But it has been months later and everyone, including my uncle, still asks about him. It’s just weird to me because Afonso only met them once and every time I talk or see my family, they ask me about him. I’ve never had that happened before. Well obviously it must be because they felt everyone else were losers. If Afonso ever reads this, I know I’m only feeding his ego/arrogance. Lol, just playing *smooches*.
