Who’s A Part of Your Entourage?

The company you keep, aka your entourage, is very important. People tend to think that the saying “birds of a feather flock together”. That necessarily isn’t always true; at times it could only be a perception. People, who want to feel important, hang with people who are important. People who have similar attitudes and thoughts spend time together. But what happens when you don’t fit in with the image that the people you are around have, or when you lose sight of who is around? An image and a reputation can be interchangeable, and you always want to make sure your image is portrayed properly. I love rebels, I love people who speak their mind, people who don’t have to be in a crowd because they are comfortable with themselves, people who are weird and aren’t looking for acceptance; those are the people I keep around, people I like to be seen or affiliated with…my entourage. But one must always keep a watchful eye on who is a part/in their entourage. When you don’t know these people, trouble can and will come. Ever been the leader of a crew, but then someone in your entourage does something opposite of what you stand for…it’s unfair that you have take the fall for them because people are looking at you as the head, but that’s how it goes. Then you have to spend so much time, effort, and money playing clean-up for someone you should have kept an eye on, or just have gotten to know. Not knowing who’s in you entourage is just as dangerous, if not more! People in your entourage get to know you; they study your moves and your thought process, which can be valuable information if not entrusted into the right hands. These types of people are like spies. They look like they’re a part of your entourage because they fit the description, have on a similar outfit. But these people are really only gaining information on you in order to bring about your downfall. One should only want an entourage full up people looking to bring about one’s upclimb…not downfall. But always be reminded that an entourage and having associates are two different things. You can have associates, but keep them at bay. An entourage includes those friends, family member, business partners, etc. that you’re around most of the time; those that can directly influence your life/reputation.
