A Letter to Arden B. About My Unpleasant Experience at the Galleria in Dallas

Hello, I went to Arden B. March 17th around 5 p.m. in the Galleria in Dallas. I usually shop at the one in North Park and have a pleasant experience but this experience here was different. I got a wonderful welcome to the store associates told me I can use my $20 off “Welcome to Arden B.” coupon. I had recently had a purchased shipped to my house. This store associated named Marisa said she had never seen it before but since it hadn’t expired (because it did on the 19th) then I could use it. I decided to purchase one of your white suits that were on display and went to the counter where Marisa was on the cash register. With her I didn’t see your companies organizational culture values which included smiling, like I encounter at your other Arden B.’s and with the other sale associates. When after my purchase was rung up she said how I got this coupon. I replied and told her that I printed it from my email online. She asked if I was a Arden B. Card member, but I replied no because I wasn’t aware that I could get one from ordering online. She then asked again well if that’s not the case how I received it. I then explained to her how I have had Arden B. clothing shipped to my house before. She then tried to look me up in the system and asked me if I even lived in New Jersey at one point and I replied no, I’m not in the system… I’m just on their online mailing list. She then denied my coupon and said it’s an online deal only. I then had to reply that is not the case because in the fine print at the bottom it said something along the lines of ‘if I print it out, I can redeem it in store’. She then went ahead without the sense of happiness, at least that wasn’t the vibe I was getting even though earlier I was told it was fine, and gave me my discount. I didn’t feel the need to go through interrogation when time is a factor with me and I just came to purchase a suit. I will not be returning to the Arden B. in the Galleria ever again, and I will also post this on my blog and make sure my fellow colleagues go to any other store except that one again. Thank you for your time. I’m just a fellow Arden B. consumer, giving feedback.
