I Don’t Have To Like What You Like, I Don’t Have To Think What You Think
People kill me sometimes to the point that once again, I’m dying with laughter. Everyone is different, we’ll let me take that back, because now-a-days people want to belong. When you don’t like something the other person likes you are always bound to be called “a hater” or “you don’t know anything, you’re stupid/crazy/lost”. No, how about I just don’t like it because I genuinely just don’t like it or I feel it’s not the best because I’ve seen/experienced better. In today’s world you get chastised, belittled, mobbed at because you don’t agree with the consensus, or you think/feel differently about certain topics. BUT I LOVE how when you say you don’t like something, someone replies, “But so and so liked it.” ‘So and so’ thoughts do not persuade my own, whether I know them or not. I love when ‘so and so’ is a celebrity. Celebrities equal people I’ve never met, and even if I have or will meet them, my ideas will not change based on their ideas. Why should a ‘so and so’ have influence over my own thoughts. When something like that happens, my thoughts are no longer my own, my thoughts are now theirs. The world is like high school. You have your ‘in crowd’, celebrities or public figures that express their thoughts. You have your ‘wannabe/trying so hard to be in the in crowd’, people that agree and teach to the masses the ‘in crowd’ people’s thoughts. You have your ‘I’m tired of being an outcast crowd’, people that are tired of being looked at weird so they are losing the battle within themselves, now only wanting to just be normal to the point that they are straying the fence. Sometimes they speak their own thoughts, but if someone has an objection, they let the objector be right as their silence their own thoughts. And you have the ‘I don’t want to be in the in crowd, I accept being an outcast crowd’, people that speak their own thoughts without any pretense. The ‘wannabe in crowd’ dislike these people more than anything, the ‘in crowd’ could care less and the ‘tired of being an outcast crowd’ admire these people from afar. The only thing that I wonder is, “When are people going to stop being controlled like robots and start expressing their own thoughts like individual humans?” But I doubt that will happen anytime soon.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
