Favorite Childhood Spots: Kidsville & Paseo

There are just some spots that a child has growing up where most of their favorite memories were made. My favorite childhood memories were made at Kidsville, a park in Duncanville (Dallas), TX, and at Paseo Colorado, a mall in Pasadena (Los Angeles), CA. I grew up in between two cities so I can’t just pick one place over the other. Best Childhood Memories: Kidsville is a park made to look like a castle (aka Castle Park). I can recall getting splinters but didn’t care because I was having so much fun playing on the wooden castle. I loved swinging on the tire and playing driver on the driving wheel located within the castle. Everything about that place was awesome. I swore I ruled that castle or something by the way I used to scream from the top of the castle or on the bridge. But I promise you that is the best park in the world! Best Adolescent Memories:  Paseo is an outside mall on the Colorado Blvd. strip (aka Old Town Pasadena). I can recall spending my latter elementary, middle school, and early high school years there on a Friday or Saturday night. So many times did I eat at Island’s Burgers and go catch a movie with friends. All the times “the crew” went and someone always didn’t have enough money to pay their bill at whatever place we would dine at were too hilarious, but back then it wasn’t. Lol! Getting money from my dad to go have a great outing with friends, making sure my outfits were good, even though my fashion sense has travelled so far since then. Hehe. But there are so many memories from each place that I could talk about but I would end up going on a “tangent”, telling stories and bring people into this blog post, which would end up being a storybook of some sort.  So I’ll just end it here to say that Kidsville and Paseo will be and are forever imprinted into my brain and my memories. Good times, good times!
